WILMINGTON--The defense called it's last witness after the prosecution rested on Monday in a hearing for a former Green Beret and Fort Bragg Surgeon.

Jeffrey MacDonald is seeking a new trial based on new forensic evidence and testimony.

He's serving life in prison for murdering his pregnant wife and two daughters more than 40-years-ago.

On Monday morning, the government rested its case and the defense called one more witness to the stand.

Jerry Leonard testified to his involvement with Helena Stoeckly. He was her attorney after she testified in the 1979 trial.

Throughout the hearing, we have heard from several witnesses who say Stoeckly told them she was in the house during the murders and she was threatened by a prosecutor to change her story.

However, we have also heard from several government witnesses who say Stoeckly denied being involved.

Leonard testified to Stoeckly initially telling him she didn't remember anything about the night of the murders. But he said she later changed her story. Stoeckly told him she didn't participate in the murders but she was there.

During cross-examination, Leonard said he never heard Stoeckly say anything about being threatened.
