CHARLOTTE -- More than seven tons of recyclables were collected from uptown Charlotte during the Democratic National Convention. That's almost more than what's been collected in the uptown area so far this year.

About 138 tons of garbage were also collected. During the convention, the city's solid waste services handled about 100 calls to remove debris, clean streets or move traffic cones.
