GREENSBORO--Rising high school freshman are learning what it takes to be a crime scene investigator.

"Exposing them to forensic sciences and exposing them to practices that forensic scientists might have to use," said Middle College at UNG teacher Sean Reaves.

Reaves says the goal of the "CSI Camp" is to get gifted STEM students to think critically.

"To explore evidence, ask questions. To solve a crime scene," said Reaves.

"I enjoyed learning about and figuring out who the suspects are and different blood types, it's interesting and fun," said student Brianna Kendrick.

Students are also exploring the physics behind blood splatter, which can often be critical evidence in solving crimes.

"The velocity, heights, how blood reacts when it hits a surface," said Reaves.

"It makes you think about what you want to be when you're older," said Kendrick.

These students are future investigators, ready to make a difference.
