CHARLOTTE—North Carolina could be the next state to require schools to provide Epi-pens.

Epi-pens would be used to help students who are having a potentially deadly allergic reactions. Several legislators are studying the issue and hope to propose a bill within the next year.

North Carolina State Sen. Andrew Brock said legislators are studying whether schools should be required by law to have Epi-Pens on hand as a First Aid measure.

Parents say it is an options that should come without question.

“There are defibrillators in malls there should be Epi-Pens everywhere especially in schools 1 out of 13 people have food allergies so i absolutely believe they should be stocked in all schools,” said parent Randi Eccleston.

Rep. Andrew Brock said he hopes to get the proposal passed by the end of this coming school year.
