CHARLOTTE -- You can help seniors try to beat the heat. Charlotte-Mecklenburg senior centers have run out of fans to give to people in need due to the record-breaking heat we've seen recently. They are looking for donations to help them tackle the requests on their waiting lists.

You can bring either a 20 inch box fan or a monetary donation to the Tyvola Senior Center. That's located at 2225 Tyvola Rd. in Charlotte.
