RALEIGH -- A state House committee advanced a proposal Wednesday that would help the anticipated $200 million plus shortfall in North Carolina's Medicaid budget. The House Appropriations Committee met Wednesday morning to consider a bill that would move money from other areas of the budget to help fill the gap.
The proposal would move $205 million to help the Medicaid budget. It is expected an additional $45 million would need to be found.
The bill now goes to the house floor for final approval.
