Coaches of 16 state finalists to speak ahead of championship games

RALEIGH – The coaches involved in next weekend's eight NCHSAA football championship games will speak Monday as they prepare their teams for the biggest challenge of the year – taking home a state title.
The Garner Trojans beat Fayetteville's Jack Britt High School in the 4AA East Regional Final last week to remain undefeated (15-0). Their opponents, the Page Pirates, who beat Charlotte's Mallard Creek on the west side of the bracket, also comes into the game without a loss (14-0).
Page won't have to travel far from its home in Greensboro, as the championship game will be held at BB&T Field at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem.
The other 7 championship games are:
• 1A – Jones vs. Murphy (Raleigh – 7:30 p.m. Friday)
• 1AA – Ayden-Grifton vs. Swain County (Winston-Salem – 11 a.m. Saturday)
• 2A – Tarboro vs. Lincolnton (Raleigh – 11 a.m. Saturday)
• 2AA – Kinston vs. West Stokes (Raleigh – 3 p.m. Saturday)
• 3A – Havelock vs. West Rowan (Chapel Hill – 11 a.m. Saturday)
• 3AA – Northern Guilford vs. Crest (Chapel Hill – 7:30 p.m. Friday)
• 4A – Scotland vs. Porter Ridge (Winston-Salem – 7 p.m. Saturday)
All eight games can be see live on news14.com, and the 4AA championship will be shown live on News 14 Carolina at 3 p.m. Saturday.
