FAYETTEVILLE – Cumberland County authorities said they believe the female body found in the Cape Fear River is not that of the missing PFC Kelli Bordeaux.

The body was found at about 1 p.m. near Campbellton Landing, about 30 feet offshore, just south of the Interstate 295 bridge. Authorities couldn't determine the age or the race of the body.

The body has been taken to the State Medical Examiner's office in Chapel Hill for an autopsy and identification.

Sheriff's detectives have opened an investigation.
