CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. -- Detectives say someone shot a Cumberland County man multiple times during a home invasion early Monday morning. The sheriff's department says it happened around 2 a.m. on Bethany Drive in the Stedman community.

Authorities say 25-year-old Patrick Paul Thomas and his wife were asleep when someone broke in their home and shot Thomas. He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

There is no word on any arrests at this time.
