Tropical moisture may spoil plan for dry weather late Sunday and Monday.

--------------------

TONIGHT:  Mostly clear.  Low 64.

TOMORROW:   Mostly sunny and very warm again.  Some clouds in the afternoon east of CLT on the increase.  High 90.

--------------------

Forecast gets blurry Sunday and Monday as what will likely be a tropical storm (Beryl) tosses clouds our way from the Atlantic.  Precipitation chances are up for grabs.  Most likely neighborhoods to get wet later Sunday and Monday may be east of I85.

Stay tuned for changes as we get more data in over the next 24 hours.

A Few Storms for the Holiday Weekend

Click here for the news14.com interactive radar.

We saw a hot day on Friday and more heat is in the forecast for the holiday weekend.  We continue to monitor the developing system off the Carolina coast.  There is some potential that it could become a tropical system over time.  This system could bring us a slightly better chance of clouds and showers by Sunday.

Tonight:  Partly cloudy and warm.  Lows in the mid to upper 60s.

Saturday:  Mostly sunny, humid with isolated storms likely.  Highs in the low 80s.

Sunday:  Partly sunny, humid with scattered storms likely.  Highs near 80.

"AS CLEAR AS MUD..."

And "BERYL" will make it more murky!

------------------

As a kid sitting on the floor watching TV, I remember my dad saying, "Hey, bud, you've been drinking muddy water...", which was his nice way of saying I'm blocking his view of the TV screen.  Our holiday weekend forecast is NOT clear cut in the slightest, thanks to an omnipresent disturbance just off the Carolina coast.

Mind you, we've had a lovely, toasty Friday in the Triad, with plenty of sunshine...but in eastern NC, as close as Henderson, there are scattered showers and storms, all moving NE to SW.  The inclement weather is not slated to get far enough west to bug us, but as the coastal situation builds the next few days, it could easily mean more clouds by Sunday, with slight rain and storm chances moving back into the picture.

We have our second tropical storm of the Atlantic season, which has not yet officially started: "Beryl".  The  It's forecast to slowly meander southwest into southern GA Monday and Tuesday, then come back out near Charleston by Wednesday night.  Models are keeping it a subtropical storm and not a hurricane, and will soon become a depression..but a good rain-soaker at the very least..

For us, that's more clouds and daily chances for showers and storms as we head into next week.  Alas, high temps will be a tad cooler, as well, mid 80s instead of temps near 90.

---------------------

TONIGHT: Mostly clear.  Low 66.

SATURDAY: Partly cloudy.  High 89.
