Gas prices continue to slide as price of oil falls $3 a barrel

RALEIGH -- Gas prices are continuing to slide. The national average for a gallon of regular gas is $3.45. Thursday, the price of oil fell nearly $3 a barrel to below $80 for the first time since October, an indication that gas prices could go even lower.

In North Carolina, the average is $3.30. Wilmington has the lowest in the state at $3.25. Greensboro's is at 3.29, Charlotte's is $3.32 and Raleigh has the highest at $3.33.
