SWANSBORO — A suspect in a Swansboro murder case made his first court appearance in Onslow County Thursday.

John Giltz is accused of shooting and killing Suzy Zemlick, 50, at his home on South Dogwood Lane on Monday. Authorities say Zemlick was staying with Giltz and his wife due to a protective order she filed against her husband Matthew Zemlick.

Giltz is being held without bond. His next court appearance is Feb. 16.
