RALEIGH -- Changes are coming next year in the Powerball game. Beginning Jan. 15, Powerball tickets will cost $2. The minimum jackpot will also double from $20 million to $40 million.

The first Powerball drawing under the new game structure with higher odds of winning will start Jan. 18.

The Powerball is now in 43 states.
