BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. — The Brunswick Nuclear Power Plant has been cited for safety concerns.

The citation came after an inspection by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, which found that the plant's fuel oil tank rooms were not properly protected from flooding. Officials call the violation: “a low to moderate safety significance.”

Brunswick officials have installed new sealants in the oil tank rooms to try and minimize the problem. In Novermber, the plant was cited by the NRC for a leak in one of its reactors.
