CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. — There are fewer ferries running this winter in the Pamlico Sound.
The Cedar Island-Ocracoke route will have fewer departures through February. A ship will leave each end of the route once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
The Swan Quarter-Ocracoke ferry route will continue on a normal schedule. The N.C. Transportation Department said the move will save $60,000.
