WILMINGTON -- A former Wilmington mayoral candidate and tattoo shop owner wants to unseat a long-time state representative. Justin Lanasa plans to challenge Republican Rep. Danny McComas for his seat in the General Assembly.
Wednesday, Lanasa joined the libertarian party. His opponent is currently in his 11th term as representative. The contested seat includes parts of New Hanover County.
Lanasa lost to Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo earlier this year. The Pennsylvania native is an Army veteran and a decorated member of the Coast Guard.
