RALEIGH -- It's really beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the state capital. Crews hoisted a 24-foot tall Frasier fir Monday. The family-owned Peaks Farms in Ashe County provided this year's state Christmas tree.
It's on display at the South Plaza grounds and it's also viewable from Fayetteville Street.
Gov. Perdue and the first gentleman will turn on the Christmas lights on Thursday, Dec. 8.
