CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C.— A Chatham County cattle farmer and former sheriff's deputy is seeking the Democratic nomination for Agriculture Commissioner.
Scott Bryant, owner of B&B Farms in Siler City, made the announcement this week. It is the 44-year-old's first run for elected office. Bryant is trying to replace Republican Steve Troxler who is expected to make an announcement in December about his political plans.
Troxler has served as Commissioner since early 2005.
