Panthers RB Stewart, RT Bell questionable

Panthers RB Stewart, RT Bell questionable
CHARLOTTE (AP) -- Panthers coach Ron Rivera says he'll make a game-time decision on the availability of running back Jonathan Stewart and starting right tackle Byron Bell. The Panthers host the New York Giants Thursday night.

Stewart and Bell haven't practiced this week.

Stewart missed the season opener against Tampa Bay after injuring his right ankle during the preseason. He returned Sunday against New Orleans and caught a 17-yard touchdown pass in Carolina's 35-27 win, but injured a toe on the same foot.

Bell sprained his right ankle against the Saints.

Garry Williams, who spent last season on injured reserve, will likely start if Bell can't go.

Rivera says wide receivers Steve Smith and Kealoha Pilares, linebacker Thomas Davis and center Ryan Kalil are expected to play against the Giants.
