HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – Jennifer Roberts, the Democratic candidate for the 9th Congressional District, was in Huntersville on Monday.
She visited a company as part of what she called an effort to create well-paying, local jobs. She said her primary objective in Congress would be to represent the people's best interests.
"The people are frustrated because when you have people fighting and tearing each other down, it's really more of a symbol of what's going on in Washington right now, and people are tired of a congress that fights. They want a congress that's working for them. They don't want people to forget that it's about representing the people who are here and their needs," said Roberts.
Roberts is a member of the Mecklenburg County Commission.
Libertarian Curtis Campbell is also running for the congressional seat.
