ROWAN COUNTY—The case of a father from Rowan County is getting a fresh look from the CUE Center for Missing Persons.

Michael Rustin, 33, also known as Mikey, disappeared in April of 2009. His family now hopes that anyone with information will come forward. Food and fellowship is family tradition at the Rustin home. And even with everyone not present, thoughts and memories of Mikey are everywhere.

Pauline Rustin, Michael Rustin's mother, said that she still feels his presence almost daily.

"When I'm in the kitchen and look that way it looks like he's looking right at me. I can move to the other side and he's looking at me. Go toward the door he's looking at me. I say 'Mikey I see you'," said Pauline Rustin.

The Latin Mix Convenience Store in Salisbury is the last place Michael Rustin was seen. It is unclear what happened in the store's parking lot. According to investigators, two Hispanic males took Michael Rustin against his will in broad daylight. They were operating a blue, Chevy Impala

Family members want to know why someone has not come forward.

"He was to meet someone because they wanted to borrow some money. They wanted to take their girlfriend out and that's what got him out of the house," said Michael's sister Shareen Rustin.

Monica Caison with the CUE Center for Missing Persons agrees the photo is key.

"We know he was abducted. It needs to be kicked up a notch and the case has kind of fallen by the wayside because he's an adult, i believe," said Caison.

At the Rustin home, the family holds on to believing, loving, and supporting each other. All of them wondering if Mikey will ever come home.
