SEYMOUR JOHNSON AFB—North Carolina's air men and women said a heartfelt thank you to the men and women who lost their lives because of 9/11.

On Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, firemen and EMT'S shared personal stories about how the attacks have changed their lives.

“It was a very emotional ceremony. There was a lot of grief and pain in the slides, in the pictures and in the speeches,” said 1st Lt. Chris Dommert with the US Air Force.

They also did a 24-hour remembrance run to honor victims, some ran in full gear.

"To be honest any firefighter can do this. It is just something I choose to do to memorialize my brother," said Capt. Brent Collins of the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Fire Department.

Members of the Air Force at Seymour Johnson also held a barbecue to celebrate the lives of 9/11 victims.
