GREENSBORO -- A group of dedicated athletes from all over the state is training for future Olympic games in a sport relatively new to the competitions. They're in Greensboro, perfecting their skills in trampoline and power tumbling.
Coaches said the sport requires more than just bouncing, it's also about body coordination, technique and control.
"There's some fear there,” said head coach Heather Carr. “You're jumping 30 to 35 feet in the air doing three flips, so there's that wow factor that separates it."
North Carolinian Stewart Pritchard is one of four Americans representing our country in the world championships next month, and will compete in the Olympic trials in 2016.
Trampolining made its first appearance at the 2000 games in Sydney, with men’s and women’s competitions.
