Fayetteville police release new photos of possible hit-and-run car

Fayetteville police have new pictures of a car they believe struck a 10-year-old boy in January and then drove away. According to police, Gabriel Alexander was crossing Glensford Drive when he was hit on Jan. 31. Alexander only had minor injuries. Police are looking for a late 90's model green Toyota Camry.

Brief Goldsboro chase ends with officer-involved shooting

A Goldsboro police officer was involved in a shooting Monday afternoon. Authorities say officers were trying to pull a car over near James and Kadis streets when the driver took off and led them on a short chase. The chase ended on Pearson Street when authorities say the officer shot at the suspect.

Silver Alert issued for missing Fayetteville woman

A Silver Alert was issued for a Fayetteville woman. Police say 57-year-old Edith Dunn was last seen on Ranch Drive in Fayetteville and may be heading to Asheboro. She's described as 5-foot-1, weighing 185 pounds, and wearing a long black coat and grey sweatshirt. She is believed to have dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

Fayetteville officer injured in early morning crash

A Fayetteville police officer suffered minor injuries after an accident Friday morning. The incident happened at the intersection of Bailey Lake Road and Strickland Bridge Road shortly before 4 a.m. Police say Officer Donnie Smith swerved to avoid a 1998 Toyota Corolla, ran off of the road and hit a tree head on.
