AURORA, Co. — As families grieve in Colorado; in North Carolina, security experts say the mass shooting can be a lesson for large public settings like movie theaters and shopping malls.

With one gunman suspected of causing so many casualties, experts say it's even more important for everyone to keep your eyes and ears open, even in places where it is easy for people to let their guard down.

“Be aware of where your exits are, be aware of where clusters of people are sitting, be aware of attitudes of people that happen to be around you,” said Karl de la Guerra.

Security experts add that while Americans should not be paranoid of another attack, they should always remain vigilant.
