WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH—Learning to surf is difficult enough for most able bodied people, but imagine hitting the waves with little, to no vision.

That is exactly what 16 participants of the Indo Jax Surf School did Friday evening. Some came from out of state to be a part of the visually impaired surf camp held on Wrightsville Beach.

Indo Jax Surf is a charity that teaches physically disabled people to surf and enjoy the ocean. Darlene Preston is a mother of visually impaired son and she said that the camp has been a great opportunity.

"It's been really wonderful for my son cause it's difficult for him to find things that he can participate in having both blindness and a physical disability," said Preston.

This is the fourth year for the surf camp.
