RALEIGH — Hundreds of shoppers are expected at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh through the weekend as the for the Kids Exchange consignment sale.

The event began Friday and officials say the event gives moms a chance to buy and sell gently used children’s items while volunteering and donating to local charities. Items up for sale include clothes, toys, and baby equipment.

"From the parent that stops me in a Target grocery store and with tears in their eyes and they tell us I could not have clothed my 2-month-old baby without Kids Exchange," said event promoter Amy Winstead.

The event will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and again on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
