GREENSBORO -- Hundreds of filmmakers throughout the state participated this weekend in the world's largest film festival. Now the public has a chance to see some of those movies.

"The 48 Hour Film Project" began last Friday night when crews randomly chose a genre, then had 48 hours to write, shoot and edit a short film, start to finish.

Screenings are Wednesday and Thursday at 7 and 9 p.m. at the Carolina Theatre in Greensboro. Tickets are $10 per screening and are available online or at the box office.

Winning entries will move on to the international competition, then the top 12 will move on to the 2013 Cannes short film corner.

More than 100 countries compete in the 48-hour festival.
