MOREHEAD CITY, N.C--A winner has been declared for the 54th Annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament.

Flybuoy reeled in a 499.3 pound blue marlin on day one, which landed them 1st place in the tournament.

Big Rock officials say there were not a lot of marlins this year due to weather and water conditions.

"The weather was bad, the seas were over 10-feet, the guys were having a tough time finding the fish and getting them to bit and probably just keeping the baits in the water was the hardest thing," said weigh master Randy Gregory.

Flybuoy is walking away with nearly half a million dollars for the 1st place win.
