A family of birds has taken up residence atop One Wells Fargo Center and it has employees all aflutter. In February, a pair of Peregrine Falcons started appearing on the ledge of the building's 40th floor. Eventually the pair built a nest and female bird laid eggs. The pair has spent the time since taking turns watching over the nest.

A hearing that could remove a New Hanover County commissioner from his position will most likely move forward. Commissioner Brian Berger had attempted to postpone the amotion hearing set for Monday, by filing a restraining order against his fellow commissioners. However, as of Friday, a judge had not granted that order.
