CHARLOTTE – Teenagers got a lesson in food service careers Saturday morning at the Kings Kitchen in uptown Charlotte.

They're all members of the McCrorey YMCA's Teens in Leadership Training Program. They're learning good eating habits as well as restaurant etiquette and preparing meals.

“Childhood obesity, as many people know, is on the rise in America and we want to make sure that everybody is aware of the things we can do to prepare meals that are healthy and exciting at the same time. Jim Noble enabled us to come here and use this facility so that we can make it a little more enjoyable for the teens," said Jacki Summi, Kids in the Kitchen program organizer.

All of the proceeds from the Kings Kitchen goes to feed the poor in Charlotte and surrounding communities.
