CHARLOTTE – Time Warner Cable will serve as the premier sponsor for the media welcome event for the Democratic National Convention.

The Charlotte host committee says the event at the North Carolina Music Factory is expected to host 15,000 media members covering the convention.

Time Warner Cable East Region Executive Vice President Carol Hevey says the Music Factory is the perfect setting.

"We're excited to help set the tone for national and international media by highlighting the Queen City as a city with a strong business environment and residents that shine with Southern charm and hospitality," she said.

The host committee also announced the catering company, audio visual partner and the entertainment management team for the event.

A list of entertainment acts who will be featured at the event has not been finalized.
