Dan Forest next Lt. Governor after Coleman concedes

Republican Dan Forest will become the state's next Lt. Governor after candidate Linda Coleman decided not to request a recount in the race. Coleman conceded Monday after final vote totals showed Forest in the lead by more than 6,000 votes. In her concession speech at state party headquarters, Coleman wished Forest luck as he takes over for Walter Dalton.

Mike McIntyre declared winner of 7th District race

Democratic incumbent Mike McIntyre has won the 7th District race. The State Board of Elections show McIntyre beating state Sen. David Rouzer with more than 650 votes. Canvassing began at 11 a.m. on Friday, but determining the official results was not a quick process.
