Pisgah covered bridge has more history than meets the eye

Located south of Asheboro, the Pisgah Covered Bridge is several miles from any main thoroughfare. There are signs along Highway 220 that direct travelers to the spot, and it is one of only two historic covered bridges that remain intact in North Carolina.
