As a North Carolina native, Brittany was born in Winston Salem before moving to Wilmington at the age of ten. In any event, Brittany is definitely Tar Heel born and bred. Through the kindness of journalism friend of her fathers, Brit was able to make her first reel at a local station at the tender age of 12. This was the initial step that sparked a burning desire to pursue a career in broadcasting. The die was cast and long before graduating from high school, the goal of attaining a Journalism Degree from the University of North Carolina was her top priority. Brittany achieved that goal in 2009 when she received a B.A in Journalism and Mass Communications, the same year that UNC-Chapel Hill won the National Championship in basketball. Go Heels!!!
During her tenure at UNC-Chapel Hill, Brittany interned for both CNN Headline News in Atlanta and WTVD-TV, the ABC affiliate in Durham. Before coming to the Crystal Coast, she worked as a reporter/anchor for Cleveland Headline News in Shelby, N.C. There, she was able to experience her proudest moment as a journalist when she interviewed a holocaust survivor.
Brittany joined the News 14 Carolina’s coastal news team in January 2011 and is looking forward to meeting new people in the community. If you see her out-and-about, say hello!
